This painting was a commissioned artwork, the client had very specific flowers in mind and they all had a significance to her.
I usually don't paint realistic flowers, and while I do have a lot of Thistle-like vegetation in my art, Orchids and Chrysanthemums I have never attempted, so it was a challenge. The client is very happy with her painting and so am I.
